When will my red bellied piranhas start to get their red bellys?

I have 3 rbp’s (yes i am 100% sure that they are piranha) and none of them have got their red bellys, they are from 1.5″ to 2.5″ they only have a very small red bit on their bottom fin. Is this normal for juvenile piranhas or is it something else?
Don’t expect to see it until they’re at least 3″. As juveniles, they’re still developing, and like most fish, the color comes later.
