When will my red bellied piranhas start to get their red bellys?

I have 3 rbp’s (yes i am 100% sure that they are piranha) and none of them have got their red bellys, they are from 1.5″ to 2.5″ they only have a very small red bit on their bottom fin. Is this normal for juvenile piranhas or is it something else?
