In your own words, how would you explain how to solve a percent equation, using this given example below:
Last week, I was having a 15%-off sale on all Piranha II (80% Tungsten) soft tip darts. Out of the 42 sets of the Piranha II darts I had in stock, I sold 27 sets.
If thid would help……..the regular price of each set of Piranha II darts is $49.99
What is the actual question?
I will create a question then. If you sold 27 sets out of the 42 you had, what percentage did you sell?
It would be 27 / 42 x 100 = 64.29% sold.
If the original price is $49.99 and there was 15% off, what is the new price?
15/100 x $49.99 = $7.50
So $49.99 – 7.50 = $42.49 is the new price
Many questions could be asked with this information; none present, though.
15%-off sale on all Piranha II soft tip darts,42 sets of the Piranha II darts minus 27 sets of the Piranha II darts equals 15 sets of the Piranha II darts.
total sold to customers 27 @ 64.29%
total left in stock 15
total saving to customers $7.50 each
total tungsten %/per sold 80
$49.99 each w/15% off @ 27 sold gives a total of $1147.23 net
