How many piranhas could i put in a 20 gallon tank?

I have a 20 gallon tank and would like to know how many piranhas i could have in it? The piranhas would be 1-2 inches at first and money is no factor. I just don’t know what would be best for the piranhas.
In general, 1 gallon of water is 1-2″ of fishie.
So a 20 gallon tank could hold up to 20 small piranhas but as they start growing to 2″ or larger, you’re going to need a larger tank.
